Abiti Parlanti — First Edition

WORKSHOP conducted by Seçil Uğur Yavuz, at Fashion Revolution event, Turin.

Can we prolong the use of garments by embedding stories?

The workshop aims at bringing an additional value to used-garments by embedding a story of the wearer. By embroidering conductive yarns on used garments, the garments can be activated to play a sound file that could tell a story. This invites people to touch the garment to listen to a memory. This interaction can underline that the garments should not be used as thrown away goods, reminding us that they also have stories to tell.

04: Make an embroidery on the garment with conductive yarn which represents the story.
